# Trademarks

The name **Humus**, the Humus logo (the cable-seedling mark), and the names
of the official distribution channels (the Humus hub, official builds and
activation codes) identify *this* project as published by its maintainers.
They are **not** licensed under the AGPL - the code license covers the code,
not the identity.

What this means in practice:

- **You may** fork, modify, build, and redistribute Humus under the terms of
  the [LICENSE](LICENSE) - that freedom is the point.
- **You may** say truthfully that your work is "based on Humus" or
  "compatible with Humus" (nominative use is fine).
- **You may not** call a modified version "Humus", use the logo for it, or
  present builds as official ones. Pick your own name for your fork - the
  soil grows more than one thing.

Unmodified builds of the official releases may keep the name. When in doubt,
ask - we are friendly.
