The Humus course
Eleven lessons that take you from an empty canvas to a patch you can perform, capture and take on stage. Each lesson is one video and one page, and each only needs the lessons before it. Every page has the same shape: the goal, the steps to click through, a shot list for the video, and links into the user guide and the in-app Help for the depth the lesson leaves out.
| # | Lesson | You leave with |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | What Humus is | Humus installed, an example playing, one captured moment |
| 1 | The patcher | A patch you wired yourself, and the vocabulary for the rest |
| 2 | Making sound | Two chips mixed through an effect chain, in a scale you chose |
| 3 | Rhythm and sequencers | A beat, a bassline and a melody running together |
| 4 | Control everything | Knobs that move themselves, and a Metapad that morphs the whole patch |
| 5 | MIDI, controllers and sync | Your hardware on the knobs, and the clock shared with other gear |
| 6 | Timeline and capture | A performance captured, cut and reperformed |
| 7 | Video live | Pictures reacting to the sound on a second screen |
| 8 | AI in the soil | A camera driving the patch, and sounds designed from a sentence |
| 9 | Wrapping up | Pods, the Library, bounces, the plugin, and what comes next |
| 10 | Grow your own | An organism you wrote, in a pack you built, in the organism list |
The reference layer stays where it is: the user guide explains each feature in full, and every organism documents itself in the Help window (the ? on its bar).
