Plugins

Your plugins play inside Humus as organisms, and a whole Humus patch can play inside other music software.

Scan and add

Settings ▸ Plugins scans the plugins on your system. The first scan of a large collection takes a few minutes; after that it is cached. Scanned plugins appear in the organism list, grouped by kind and maker, and take cords like any other organism.

Playing them

Select a plugin to see its knobs in Properties. The view switch flips to the plugin's own interface, and Float opens it in a window of its own. Its knobs map, automate and morph like any other, and its state saves with the patch.

When one misbehaves

Right-click a plugin and choose Restart Plugin to bring it back with its settings. A plugin whose interface froze Humus is offered for quarantine at the next launch; opening it afterwards asks first, with Open anyway or Un-quarantine. After a crash, the next launch offers to recover your work.

Humus as a plugin

The Humus plugin carries a whole patch - organisms, cords and hosted plugins - into another host as one instrument or effect. The patch saves with the host's project, and the host's transport drives it.
